A wonderful mid 19th century wallpapered covered hat box in a blue grey & white floral pattern. Interestingly internally is the label for a company named C. Escaich, a carton / box maker ("Cartonnier") located in Toulouse, France. The text also mentions "Articles de Voyage," which translates to "travel items." This suggests the company specialized in making boxes or cases for travel. and not a retailer of hats !.
Height 17 cm, length27.5.
Condition all the wear you would want to see, top a little grubby. |
