MINA BONNER c.1908 LONDON DERRY IRELAND |
£SOLD |
A child's school work is so important, more so at the turn of the 20th century. The ability of a girl to be able to show her needlework skills was often a doorway to employment. Not necessary as a seamstress but as a domestic.
Each piece in this framed collection has the name Mina Bonner stitched to it, A genealogical search has come up with only one girl in the time period expected. One Mina, daughter to Julia & Thomas Bonner of Waterside London Derry Ireland. Born in 1900. I would have expected her to be about 6 to 8 when she did her needlework. |
