A delightful small sampler worked with the alphabet in upper and lower case letters and signed by FLORA EMILY DIXON, of LONGPORT (Hampshire) and dated in the corners 1863.
Research has found that Emily born 1856 to Mary and John Dixon, a Gentleman of the village, that being he had his own money. And that she worked her sampler at Belleview House, private boarding school in 45 The High Street, Limington. On the 9.10.1884 she married James Henry Bradfield a corn & Flour miller, at Longstock Mill. She died aged 60 in 1915. They had a son & two daughters.
