ELIZABETH MARSH, EAST LAMBROOK School 1830. £465
THE CHRISTIAN'S HOPE by ELIZABETH MARSH of EAST LAMBROOK School 1830..
An interesting sampler that shows strong Quaker style. Born in the neighboring village of South Petherton in 1826, the daughter of Hannah & Edward a fruit dealer. She married John Webber aged only 16 in 1842, a local farmer. They had 8 children.. We do not believe East Lambrook was a Quaker school , but with large Quaker communities in nearby Taunton & Bridgwater her teacher could well have been a Quaker, and brought her style of needlework to the School.
