  LATE TUDOR GREEN GLAZE COSTREL £SOLD  
We have often regarded the Verwood Owl Costrel as a unique form, but it is well known to earlier sites. A number of Green Glaze examples like this are attributed to the Surrey, Hampshire border and a date of 1600, (80-93/4; A723;A4551) others with an oatmeal colour found in Canterbury Kent have a given date of 15th / 16th century.
