Mrs ANN NORMAN 1849

£SOLD

  Mrs ANN NORMAN 1849 £SOLD
Some people ask why pottery not porcelain, its pots like this made for some one to use not to be displayed in a glass cabinet.
A very simple storage jar, a stone ware body glazed in a oat meal coloured glaze with the owners name Mrs Ann Norman and date 1849 picked out in individual letters.
We know nothing of who she was or why the date , possibly a marriage present. where did she come from or who made the pot. A guess would be Derbyshire !.
Height 6 1/2 inches; 16.5 cm.
Condition small rim chip.
